Whether exporting weight data to ERP/fieldbus systems or creating custom workflows, custom programmable weighing scale indicators make it easy to create customer-specific solutions. Our weight scale indicators support standard programming languages, such as Microsoft® Visual Studio .NET (IND780, IND890) or METTLER TOLEDO TaskExpert™ (IND560, IND780) and are powerful tools for industrial weighing applications. Multiple programmable models mean that optimized solutions can be created to meet an application's unique requirements.

What is a programmable scale indicator?
A programmable scale indicator, also referred to as a scale terminal, scale controller, and many other names around the world – can be thought of as the brain of a weighing system. These devices take in weight signals from the load cell system of a scale, and turn that collection of weight signals into understandable data or a weight reading. Programmable simply means the ability to custom design programs for the indicator, rather than having a rigid set of functions which users cannot deviate from.

What is the benefit of custom programs in a weighing indicator?

Many operations have specialized applications and sensitive formulas that benefit from the ability to write custom formulas. While it may be possible for these operations to work with pre-installed standard functionality, they are able to operate faster and with more precision when they have the option to create a custom program. These custom programs can be written to fit their exact application and workflow.

What kinds of programmable scale indicator systems are available?
METTLER TOLEDO offers a large variety of programmable scale indicator systems, including those for hygienically sensitive areas, hazardous areas, and harsh manufacturing environments. When researching your new scale indicator, controller or terminal – make sure consider one that is designed for your environment – this will help ensure a long useful life and maximized ROI.
