Case study on M800 transmitter for Ethernet/IP integration

This case study describes how a water system fabricator was facing challenges and added costs due to traditional analog control systems that require two copper wires per input, expensive I/O modules, and labor-intensive installation processes.

To overcome these issues, the fabricator adopted the M800 Water Ethernet/IP transmitter by METTLER TOLEDO Thornton, which offers a simple and cost-effective solution to meet customer automation requirements.

The M800 transmitter with Ethernet/IP significantly reduces the cost per input of the control system, with a single transmitter able to send up to 26 outputs using just one cable.

By implementing METTLER TOLEDO’s M800 Water Transmitter for Ethernet/IP integration, the customers of the fabricator can enjoy the convenience and analytical benefits of digital measurement technology with predictive diagnostics, enhancing the overall performance of their water systems.

Additionally, the M800 Water Transmitter comes with METTLER TOLEDO’s Intelligent Sensor Management (ISM™) digital technology, which offers fast, error-free, Plug and Measure sensor installation, and advanced diagnostics to predict when sensor maintenance will be required.

The transmitter allows for easy integration into a control system by using a single Ethernet switch, further reducing the cost per system input. Overall, the adoption of the M800 Water transmitter for Ethernet/IP integration proved to be a reliable and cost-effective solution for the water system fabricator, offering significant advantages over traditional analog control systems in terms of both cost and ease of use.
