M816/Potentiometric Determination of Phosphate in Fertilizer

The application describes the potentiometric determination of phosphate in fertilizer sample. The potential change is monitored using a half-cell ion selective electrode in combination with a specialised reference sensor.

Background

Phosphate ion, PO43-, is the conjugated base of phosphoric acid, H3PO4, and is one of naturally occurring form of element phosphorus. Phosphate ions are integral components of many finished products and are often present in various industrial applications namely fertilizer, feed, food, detergents, personal hygiene, and construction, etc. As there is rapidly increase in demand for industrial phosphate, the needs for fast and reliable phosphate determination technique become increasingly important.
