This sector requires cell counting methods that are versatile, efficient, and accurate. Furthermore, the shift from animal testing to more ethical alternatives has increased the prevalence of human skin cell models in cosmetics testing, while lab-grown leather uses animal cells.

Here, we will explore the fundamental principles of cell counting and examine its applications in the cosmetics industry, highlighting challenges and strategies for accurate and efficient cell counting. Moreover, we will briefly see how plate reading can also support the cosmetic industry.
