Every Package Is Checked for Completeness
Acino relies on checkweighers from METTLER TOLEDO for completeness checks and weight control at various stages of production. For example, during the production of packages containing pain-relieving plasters, each plaster weighs 2 grams. The complete package is weighed and verified for completeness at the final packaging stage. The checkweigher accurately detects both underweight and overweight packages and removes any boxes with incorrect weights from the production line using an air jet reject mechanism.
The dynamic checkweigher inspects products ranging from 5 to 600 grams, performing up to 32 weighing procedures per minute with a weighing precision of up to one gram. Featuring a 15-inch touchscreen, 200 product setup memories and weight classification across seven zones, this checkweigher is the perfect solution for the sophisticated, complex tasks in the pharmaceutical industry.
At Acino’s Miesbach site, the checkweigher includes the optional "reject countercheck" feature, which verifies that rejected products are correctly removed. If a "bad product" has been detected but not been rejected, the conveyor belt stops and an error message alerts the operators to take corrective action.
