As a portable device, you can use your CytorDirect in different laboratories and under varying ambient conditions. Get your own Performance Verification Kit (PVK) test slides to ensure correct measurement results after each instrument relocation.
The test slides are available in three fixed concentrations (5E6, 1E6 and 1E5) covering the entire measuring range. No user-dependent sample preparation is required.
Each PVK slide contains an RFID tag storing the slide’s relevant information, including its unique ID, nominal and reference concentration, lot number and expiry date and is accompanied with a certificate of analysis (CoA).
Simply scan the RFID chip and start the measurement.

Even though cell counting is an essential step in life science research, there is no universal, certified living-cell standard available to calibrate CytoDirect.
Instead of calibration, METTLER TOLEDO offers Performance Verification using the standardized reference kit with test slides. Our unique kit includes three fixed bead concentrations (5E6, 1E6, 1E5) that cover commonly used cell concentrations in the lab. Each test slide is accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (CoA).
Upon completion, a Performance Verification Certificate is issued.
Performance tests can be completed by users within seconds as needed, even before each experiment, ensuring quick and reliable verification every time. Performance Verification Kit Test Slides are offered for this purpose.
However, this cannot replace Performance Verification offered by METTLER TOLEDO, as an unbiased proof from an independent supplier is required to fulfill compliance with the regulations.
As this is beyond the control of METTLER TOLEDO, it is the responsibility of the device owner/user to ensure adherence to site environmental conditions as outlined in the User Manual.
If CytoDirect is moved to a different location than where the instrument was initially installed and qualified, we strongly recommend performing a performance verification test to ensure the instrument functions properly in the new location.
