Particle Size Distribution

Analyze and Optimize Particle Size for Processes and Products

What Is Particle Size Distribution?

Particle size distribution (PSD) is a statistical representation of a particle system, providing a breakdown of particle counts or proportions across a range of sizes. The PSD can be expressed as a series of discrete values, a histogram for visual analysis, or a mathematical function. Particle size distribution information is critical for the analysis, control, and optimization of a variety of processes, such as crystallization (and recrystallization), tablet dissolution and disintegration, emulsification, milling, flocculation, and flow assurance.
