Automatically Optimize Filling and Dosing Processes

Optimizing filling and dosing processes in the PLC is time-consuming and often does not deliver the best results. A self-learning weighing terminal controls filling valves and optimizes cutoff points to continuously improve speed and accuracy.

Manually operated filling, dosing and blending processes can be very inefficient. Automatic Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), on the other hand, can easily exceed the budget and may not deliver the required performance.

The IND570fill weighing terminal, with its dedicated filling software, includes sophisticated filling algorithms in combination with digital inputs and outputs for direct control of the filling valves. This can substitute a small PLC or complement a larger system by directly contolling the delicate filling process and providing improved process speed and quality.

Advanced control without a PLC

The IND570fillweighing terminal enables filling of single materials or blending of up to six materials using one- or two-speed feed control. The two speed settings ensure that material transfer is both fast and accurate.

Weigh-in cycles (fill, blend) are easily combined with weigh-out cycles (dump, dose) to create broader control solutions. Cycles can be looped to implement continuous processes and auxiliary devices, such as mixer, vibrator or conveyor, can be integrated into the process. Such customized cycles can be easily configured within the standard software of the IND570fill, eliminating the need for specialized programming.

Optimized process quality and efficiency

New material setup is simplified and accelerated by the terminal’s Learn Mode. Program a new target with +/- tolerance values and let the IND570fill algorithms automatically calculate the ideal fine feed and spill values for that material during the first run.

The Automatic Spill Adjustment continuously improves results by accounting for environmental changes that can affect the amount of material still in flight after all the feeding equipment is shut off. Integrated statistics on the weigh-in and weigh-out cycles provide data to help identify system adjustments that can shorten cycle times, reduce waste and improve margins.

The IND570fill is suitable for material transfer applications in both safe and hazardous areas categorized as Zone 2/22 or Division 2. No matter the area classification, the IND570fill capabilities are the same. Optional solid state I/O makes it possible to directly control material delivery equipment installed in hazardous areas.
