Small quantities of water, present in the metal powder, can negatively affect the quality of a product. Water vapor bubbles that are created during the melting process influence the liquid metal flow and lead to air inclusions. Therefore, it is important to measure the water content of the metal powder prior to the process.
Karl Fischer titration is very specific for water and can, therefore, accurately measure water in metal powder to reduce the risks of quality issues. We recommend using a coulometric Karl Fischer titrator, connected to an InMotion KF oven to streamline the process and further ensure accurate results.
Certain specific samples contains very less amount of water. Hence for such samples, the analysis of water content by Karl Fischer volumetric titration or just using Coulometric Karl Fischer Titration becomes difficult. Thus, certain oil, food, and inorganic samples can easily be analyzed using an InMotion KF Oven connected with Coulometric Karl Fischer Titrator.
