Conventional weighing cells for truck scales are regularly damaged during storms. Yet the POWERCELL MTX load cell from METTLER TOLEDO is so reliable that not even a direct lightning strike can take it out of action. Mud, snow, water and lightning routinely cause damage to typical vehicle scale load cells (sensors). METTLER TOLEDO developed the POWERCELL MTX load cell for this kind of tough weather conditions. Many scale users discovered that a damaged sensor doesn’t just cause the scale to fail but to register incorrect weight. The error was only discovered during an annual calibration or after a dissatisfied customer.
Thanks to the POWERCELL load cell, there are hardly any service calls to the METTLER TOLEDO because of defective load cells. The POWERCELL MTX has been tested and proven for prolonged submersion, lightning resistance, and is the first digital vehicle scale cell to be tested and proven for IP69K (60°C water jets).
The POWERCELL is successfully operating the desert, Siberia and is installed in the only weighbridge in Antarctica. The only time a scale user sees the service department is during routine maintenance – this translates into real cost savings.
