Measure Water Content with Kinematica Homogenizer and IKA Homogenizer by Volumetric Karl Fischer Titration

A Titrimetric Method for Milk Powder, Moisturizer Cream, Almonds and Gummy Candies

Water Content of Milk Powder, Moisturizer, Almonds, and Gummy Candies by Volumetric KF Titration

Determining water content in diverse samples such as milk powder, moisturizer cream, almonds, and gummy candies is crucial for quality control and product stability in the food and cosmetic industries. The EVA V3 Volumetric Karl Fischer Titrator by METTLER TOLEDO, when used in conjunction with a homogenizer, offers a robust and efficient solution for this analytical challenge. This method is particularly advantageous for heterogeneous and complex matrices, like powders, creams, and solid foods, where uniform sample dispersion is essential for accurate titration results. The process begins with thorough sample homogenization using a high-performance disperser or homogenizer. This step ensures that water is evenly distributed throughout the sample, allowing for complete extraction and precise measurement during titration. For more information visit: mt.com

What are homogenizers?

Homogenizers are high shear stirrers and blender that helps the samples to reduce and disperse which do not dissolve or dissolve slowly in the KF solvent. Homogenizers are very much beneficial for the samples like creams, pastes and solids.

Why use homogenizers in KF titration?

To measure water content within the samples, extracting the water from the samples is a very important step. Although adding a suitable co-solvent or heating the KF vessel can help dissolve samples that do not easily dissolve, yet this methods have limited scope. For samples like creams, pastes, almonds, milk powder, moisturizer, almonds, and gummy candies, homogenizers are used which act as blender and high speed stirrer enhancing the extraction of water from the samples within the KF solvent. Homogenizers are very convenient to use in KF titration as it eliminates tedious sample preparation steps and reduces the analysis time.
