Applicant Eligibility​

  • The applicant must be affiliated with a degree-granting academic or nonprofit research institution ​

  • The applicant can be a student (undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, doctoral) or a researcher​
  • Demonstrates cutting-edge innovation in solving a research problem and presents a solution offering a more sustainable solution

Award Details

  • The awardee will receive $20K (USD) worth of laboratory equipment from METTLER TOLEDO portfolio
  • We will award the two most promising applications
  • Feature the success and awardee’s research on mt.com and through promotions​

Submission Requirements​

  • A completed application form including a 200-300 word abstract describing your research and highlighting innovations that will shape our future sustainably
  • The language of the application is English​

  • March 31, 2026: Submission deadline​

The application must be submitted in English. The call opens on November 1, 2025, and the submission deadline is March 31, 2026.

The two most promising applications will be awarded a voucher to purchase $20,000 USD worth of METTLER TOLEDO laboratory equipment. Winners will be announced on May 2, 2026, on the METTLER TOLEDO website, and their research will be featured and promoted on mt.com and social media channels of METTLER TOLEDO.

Can researchers at any level of seniority apply to METTLER TOLEDO Innovator Award?

Yes, researchers at any level of seniority are welcome to apply for the METTLER TOLEDO Innovator Award. Whether you are an undergraduate student, a graduate student, a doctoral candidate, or an experienced researcher, you are eligible to submit your innovative research that contributes to a more sustainable future.

Do I need to have my research published to apply for the METTLER TOLEDO Innovation Award?

While it is preferred that your research work has been published in a peer-reviewed journal or presented at a conference, as this allows it to be easily referenced and serves as strong evidence of your research for our evaluation process, publication is not a strict requirement. Please note that if your work is unpublished, METTLER TOLEDO cannot take responsibility for the security or confidentiality of the data submitted through the application form. We recommend carefully considering the sensitivity of your data before submitting unpublished work. Please refer to Terms and Conditions.
