In China’s Largest Petrochemical Plant

The China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, also known as Sinopec, is the world’s second biggest chemical company by revenue. Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) is the fifth. In 2009, the two corporations established a joint-venture to create the Sinopec Sabic Tianjin Petrochemical Plant, a world-scale petrochemical facility located near Tianjin, China. The site produces products including ethylene, polypropylene, butadiene, and phenol.
