What is an oxygen analyzer?
An oxygen analyzer is a system for measuring oxygen in a gas stream. It is made up of a sensor, a transmitter and a process adaption or housing. For measuring oxygen in situ, METTLER TOLEDO offers both amperometric oxygen analyzers and tunable diode laser oxygen analyzers.
METTLER TOLEDO oxygen analyzers are unique in that they do not need sampling or conditioning systems (SCS) so they can provide a fast and accurate measurement with minimal maintenance.
What gas analyzer technology does METTLER TOLEDO offer?
METTLER TOLEDO offers two gas analyzer technologies. These two technologies are tunable diode laser spectroscopy and amperometric (or polarographic) technology.
Amperometric oxygen sensors use an electro-chemical measurement technology housed in a compact package. It is a depleting technology, therefore some maintenance and consumables are required. Chemical interference is possible, and knowledge of the gas composition is required for evaluation.
METTLER TOLEDO’s tunable diode laser oxygen analyzer technology is immune to most interferences and the sensor’s materials of construction are very robust. There is no regular maintenance and the sensor is designed for long term continuous operation. TDL is suited for the most challenging and critical applications. The physical package is larger than the amperometric gas sensors, so it has different installation requirements.
What types of systems are gas analyzers able to be installed in?
METTLER TOLEDO's portfolio of gas analyzers is flexible for a wide range of applications and systems. The amperometric sensors are a standard 12 mm sensor and can be installed in most standard process vessels, making them optimal for applications such as headspace monitoring.
The tunable diode laser gas analyzer offers a much wider range of process adaptions for measurement wherever you need it. With adaptions for small or wide pipes, dirty gas streams, fast or slow flowing gas streams and hot gas streams, this analyzer is very versatile to meet your installation requirements. Also, due to its folded path design, it does not need manual alignment.
