Standardized IO-Link Interface

IO-Link has become one of the most popular, well-accepted manufacturer-independent protocols enabling flexible and seamless integration of sensors and actuators in industrial control systems. SLL210 AnyLevel sensors provide IO-Link as a primary direct connection to PLCs and other control systems via standard cables and connectors, simplifying the installation. Daisy Chain and Automatic Self-Initialization

SLL210 AnyLevel are smart sensors connected in a daisy-chain topology, reducing complexity with no junction box or terminal required. In the daisy chain, each sensor has one male and one female connector, avoiding the risks of a wrong connection with a standard cable. The sensors automatically self-initialize and are powered up sequentially to exchange online information and communicate their positions in the daisy chain. The sensor directly connected to a PLC or other control systems is powered up first and becomes the master sensor. It cyclically communicates the condition monitoring information and the total weight value measured in the entire chain.

Easy Sensor Replacement

Defective sensors can be easily replaced, as all the parameters of the daisy chain (including the latest initialization, zeroing, span adjustment, GEO codes, or low and upper thresholds) have been saved during the previous self-initialization. After the replacement is complete, the sequential power-up starts, without requiring any action from the operator. During the process, the new sensors clone the previous configuration on their respective on-board electronics and automatically assign themselves a position in the daisy chain. The replacement sensors are installed, and the system is immediately running, reducing costly downtime.

What is the IP protection of the connectors?

We provide the highest ingress protection (IP68 /IP69K), which is also valid for the connectors.

What is the procedure to adjust the tank capacity?

The sensors can be used directly after installation thanks to the factory calibration. It is possible to set the zero point by pressing the button on the sensor at the corresponding deadload or refill load level. For the 4-20 mA HART version or the IO-Link protocol, the zero point as well as the upper threshold can be set in the corresponding software.

Should a sensor fail, is it easy to detect which one to exchange?

Yes, a user will get the information about which sensor shows a Smart5 alarm via the HART or the IO-LINK protocol.

Can I use the SLL210 AnyLevel for tank sizes smaller than 1 t?

Yes, this is possible. For example, 4 x 1 t sensors can be installed with a 400 kg tank. The resulting specific accuracy will decrease, as the 0.3% R.C. per sensor still corresponds to 3 kg per sensor. In turn, this will lead to an accuracy of 3% per tank leg.

Can the sensors be installed in hazardous areas?

Yes. The SLL210 AnyLevel™ sensors are approved for use in hazardous locations, including Zone 2/22 and Division 2 areas. In these applications, the sensors are installed in the hazardous area, while the ACS210xx AnyLevel™ unit is installed in a safe area.
