UV/Vis Spectrophotometric Method for Pharmaceutical Analysis

The European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) has standard norms for UV/Vis spectroscopy. Ph. Eur. methods for UV/Vis measurements are similar to those of USP, and both are based on the use of spectrophotometers to measure the absorbance of light at different wavelengths.

The Ph. Eur. provides general chapters and monographs that describe approved methods, acceptance criteria, and allowable tolerances for UV/Vis spectroscopy.

These standards help ensure the quality and consistency of medicines and other substances.

Aceclofenac. Identification Test

This test identifies aceclofenac by verifying its characteristic absorption spectrum using UV/Vis spectrophotometry.

Allopurinol. Identification Test

This test identifies allopurinol by verifying its characteristic absorption spectrum using UV/Vis spectrophotometry.

Ambroxol Hydrochloride. Identification Test

This test identifies ambroxol hydrochloride by verifying its characteristic absorption spectrum using UV/Vis spectrophotometry.

Apomorphine Hydrochloride Hemihydrate. Identification Test

This test identifies apomorphine hydrochloride hemihydrate using UV/Vis spectrophotometry by confirming an absorption maximum at 273 nm and a characteristic shoulder between 300 and 310 nm.

Amphotericin B. Identification Test

This identification test confirms the identity of amphotericin B by measuring its characteristic UV/Vis absorption spectrum and comparing it with the specified reference spectrum.

Ascorbic Acid. Identification Test

This identification test confirms the identity of ascorbic acid, also known as vitamin C, by measuring its characteristic ultraviolet (UV) absorption maximum.

Aspartame. Identification Test

This test identifies aspartame by verifying its characteristic ultraviolet absorption maxima using UV/Vis spectrophotometry.

Atenolol. Identification Test

This identification test confirms the identity of atenolol by evaluating its characteristic ultraviolet (UV) absorption spectrum.

Bromocriptine Mesilate. Identification Test

Bromhexine HCI. Color Test

This test identifies bromhexine hydrochloride through the formation and UV/Vis spectrophotometric measurement of a characteristic colored reaction product.

Buflomedil HCI. Identification Test

This test identifies buflomedil hydrochloride using UV/Vis spectrophotometry by confirming its characteristic absorption maximum at 275 nm.

Buserelin. Color and Specific Absorbance Test

This test evaluates the color and specific absorbance of a buserelin solution using UV/Vis spectrophotometry to verify pharmaceutical quality and detect potential impurities or degradation.

Butylhydroxytoluene. Identification and Color Test

This test confirms the identity of butylhydroxytoluene (BHT) using its characteristic ultraviolet (UV) absorption and a specific color reaction.

Calcium Ascorbate. Color Test

This color test confirms the identity of calcium ascorbate through a characteristic color reaction with a specified reagent.

Calcium Dobesilate. Identification, Specific Absorbance and Color Test

This test identifies calcium dobesilate and evaluates its color and specific absorbance using UV/Vis spectrophotometry, with characteristic absorption maxima at 221 and 301 nm.

Calcium Folinate Hydrate. Absorbance Test

This absorbance test evaluates the quality and clarity of calcium folinate hydrate by measuring light absorption in its aqueous solution.

Ibuprofen. Identification Test

This test identifies ibuprofen using UV/Vis spectrophotometry by confirming a characteristic shoulder at 258 nm and absorption maxima at 264 and 272 nm.
