How Does Dynamic Checkweighing Technology Work?
Dynamic checkweighers are integrated into production to automatically measure the weight of products. For small, lightweight pharmaceutical products such as vials, blister packs and small cartons, special handling options such as timing screws and side-grips are typically used to help keep the product stable, therefore achieving a more accurate weight measurement.
The checkweigher includes an infeed conveyor that moves products onto a load cell, which dynamically weighs each product in motion. After weighing, products move to an outfeed conveyor with a sorting or rejection device designed to address any packaging challenges of the individual product. If a product's weight falls outside a set tolerance range, the system automatically rejects it from the line, allowing only correctly weighted products to continue.
This process helps maintain quality control in pharmaceutical production by quickly and accurately identifying products that don’t meet weight standards, all without stopping the production line.
