Volumetric vs. Gravimetric Filling
Which system is the best when filling bulk materials? Commonly, filling machines use either volumetric or gravimetric methods to control fill quantity. Volumetric fillers, such as flow meters, can suffer from a number of problems with changes in material properties, such as viscosity or density. In comparison, filling by gravimetric methods provides advantages that clearly help reduce the risk of overfilling, including:

  • Better accuracy  and  operation  within  a smaller tolerance band and
  • Traceably supported net-content legislation.
