Background

Lithium ions react with ammonium fluoride to lithium fluoride, which is insoluble in ethanol. The course of the titration can be monitored using a solid state fluoride selective electrode as the fluoride concentration strongly increases as soon as all the lithium ions are consumed. As an example, the purity of lithium nitrate is assessed in this application note. The same method can be used for other lithium salts that are soluble in ethanol.

This application note includes:

  •   Sample preparation and procedures
  •   Solutions and chemicals
  •   Chemistry
  •   Instruments and accessories

  •   Results and remarks

Along with method files (.lmt and .xml) for direct import and implementation on the instrument.
