Product Handling in Checkweighing Applications: Timing Screws

Video

Weighing unstable nasal spray containers prone to toppling using effective product handling options

Unstable products present challenges for product inspection equipment, as the movement through the system can cause products to topple and result in a potential line jam and unplanned downtime. The C35 Checkweigher comes with product handling options to safeguard against such complications and make certain that proper weighing results can be obtained.

To properly distance products from one another the C35 uses a timing screw feed which separates products from one another and keeps them from bunching up on the weighing conveyor, which would result in an inaccurate weighing result. In this example video nasal spray dispensers are used, and an air blast rejection function removes over or underfilled products. Two separate rejectors allow the system to sort the products by defect – depositing overfilled containers in one bin and underfilled containers in another.
