Density Measurement of Lithium-Ion Battery Electrolytes

A Fast and Simple Method Including Pass/Fail Information

METTLER TOLEDO analytical instruments are routinely used to measure the physico-chemical properties of a given liquid electrolyte. The quality of electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries is verified with the help of density measurements.

As the value of the density is usually reported at 25 °C, Excellence Density meters can be used thermostatting the sample to this temperature, while Portable Densito works with temperature compensation. Furthermore, automatic results verification analyses can be programmed to check tolerance limits in the user interface of both instruments. The results are directly validated with messages (pass/fail) or color-coded.
