Checkweighing Basics in Food

Dynamic checkweighers work by automatically measuring the weight of products as they move along a production line.

The system consists of an infeed conveyor that transports products onto a load cell, which dynamically weighs each product while it is in motion. After weighing, the products continue onto an outfeed conveyor equipped with a sorting or rejection device.

If a product's weight falls outside a pre-set tolerance range, the system automatically removes it from the line, so that only correctly weighted products proceed.

This process helps maintain quality control, especially in food production, by quickly and accurately identifying products that do not meet weight specifications without interrupting the flow of the production line.

Checkweighers can be placed at several points on a production line, depending on the product and process flow.
