DSC is the most important thermoanalytical method for the analysis of damage to plastic components. It can be used to solve a wide variety of problems with relatively little effort. A number of relevant examples are discussed in this article to illustrate the different problems that DSC can help to solve, such as detection of impurities, identification and differentiation of polymers, investigation of oxidative stability, etc.
