1. Why is balance installation important?

Real conditions may differ from one lab to another, and professional installation ensures that the balance or moisture analyzer is optimized for the specific location and delivers accurate results from the beginning. Only correct and professional installation can let you know that the balance is:

  • delivering accurate results
  • placed in the optimum location
  • set up according to your requirements
  • able to pass internal/external audits

2. What is the right installation and qualification package for my application?

Since operating environments, applications and regulatory requirements differ, we offer three levels of installation pac: EQPac responds to the needs of highly regulated industries (GMP/GLP, USP, Ph. Eur.), IPac includes a medium level of detail and is used with industries working with various quality standards (e.g. ISO, HCCP). StarterPac proves that professional installation has taken place and does not include qualification.

3. How can I make sure that the balance is operated correctly after installation?

Initial user trainings are part of all installation and qualification packages. They are intended to make users familiar with the instrument and to ensure a smooth start and to allow correct measurements right from the beginning.

4. Is calibration required after installation?

Initial calibration is a separate service that is normally performed after installation to prove that the instrument accuracy meets process requirements before it goes into routine operation. Regulated industries require initial calibration.

5. Why is GWP® Verification recommended to complement balance qualification?

GWP Verification is METTLER TOLEDO’s risk-based methodology that confirms that an instrument continues to meet process requirements over its lifetime. It establishes an appropriate calibration, routine testing, and maintenance schedule to help maintain accuracy. GWP Verification provides a clear risk-based strategy for defining calibration frequency, as well as for defining which individual routine tests, test weights and weight classes operators should use when performing periodic testing. It also defines recalibration intervals for test weights used.
