Tunable diode laser oxygen gas analyzers are increasingly being used in harsh industrial applications due to their high selectivity, absence of drift, and low maintenance requirement. There are two competing TDL measurement techniques in common use: direct absorption spectroscopy (DAS) and wavelength modulation spectroscopy (WMS). Both techniques are immune to the presence of background gases, except hydrogen. Here, DAS offers a significant advantage.
