Titer of Silver Nitrate 0.1 mol/L with Easy Cl titrator

Potentiometric Measurement with a Silver Sensor with Sodium Chloride

Silver nitrate (AgNO3) is by far the most important titrant used inprecipitation titration. It is used to determine halides, halide like ions like CN-, SCN-; mercaptans , fatty acids and many divalent inorganic ions. Its precise titre determination is an important aspect in many industries.

Reaction:

AgNO3+NaCl    →   AgCl +NaNO3

This application is used to standardize AgNO3 titrant with sodium chloride (NaCl). The titration is monitored by potentiometric measurement with a Silver sensor and the titration curve is evaluated at the inflection point to determine the equivalence point (EQP).
