Curing of Powder Coatings Using UV Light

The purpose of this application is to show how DSC can be used to investigate the UV curing behavior of powder coatings.
Three basic questions arise in connection with UV curing:

  1. What influence do temperature and UV light intensity have on the curing process?
  2. How long does the sample have to be exposed to UV light to achieve an adequate de- gree of cure or crosslinking?
  3. What are the optimum parameters for the curing reaction?

The first two questions are investigated in detail in the following sections. The latter point is discussed in the final conclusions.
