End Game: Technology Development for Continuous Isolation

Realizing the Full Benefits of Continuous Processing Versus Traditional Batch Methods

In this presentation, Daniel Ward, PhD of Nalas Engineering presents a continuous process enabling low-cost chemistry, which would have otherwise been extremely challenging and potentially not possible using batch processing. This continuous process led to increased throughput, increased efficiency, reduced organic solvent use, reduced hazardous chemical inventory and eliminated storage of unstable intermediate via “on-demand” reagent production.

The presenter also discusses a continuous flow system with integrated continuous extraction and semi-continuous isolation, respectively, to realize the full benefits of a continuous process versus traditional batch methods.
