Diese temperaturmodulierte DSC (TMDSC)-Methode ermöglicht die Trennung sowohl temperatur- als auch zeitabhängiger Vorgänge. Das grundlegende Prinzip von TOPEM® besteht darin, die isotherme Temperatur oder Heizrate durch eine Reihe stochastischer (zufälliger) Temperaturimpulse unterschiedlicher Dauer zu überlagern. Die quasi-statische Wärmekapazität wird von den reversierenden Effekten getrennt. Die Frequenzabhängigkeit der Wärmekapazität kann berechnet werden.
