These top-line moisture analyzers deliver unmatched performance for areas that required the highest precision, measurement performance and compliance with quality-management standards. An innovative hanging weighing pan with a high-performance MFR weighing cell that provides up to 0.1 milligram readability ensures the best in measurement performance as well as safe and easy cleaning. In three simple steps, you are guided through the moisture method development process. The process takes the characteristics of your sample into account to determine a suitable drying temperature, drying program and switch-off criterion to match your moisture reference value (e.g. from the drying oven)

The embedded results-prediction software functionality reduces measurement time to a fraction of the normal duration (e.g. two minutes).

1. Which moisture analyzer is best for measuring very low moisture content? 
HX204 and HS153 offer the best measurement performance for samples with low moisture content (<1% MC) thanks to the hanging weighing pan which separates heating and weighing elements and the high-performance MFR weighing cell. Additionally, the HX204 moisture analyzer offers the option of high resolution (0.1 mg). This is important  because the rounding error of the last digit is the dominant cause of error whenever the second digit (% MC) is of significance. Common examples of samples that require 0.001% MC readability are plastic pellets and sugar.

 

2. Why is the HX204 moisture analyzer required for accurate moisture measurement in plastics?
Samples with very low moisture content such as plastics or sugar (< 1% MC) require superior measurement performance and 0.1 mg readability to deliver reliable, repeatable results (0.001% MC). In addition, special settings such as high-resolution pre-heating (0.1 mg) and switch-off criteria delay to give a sample extra time to heat are important for accurate measurement of moisture in plastics. ASTM standard D6980-12 “Standard Test Method for Determination of Moisture in Plastics by Loss in Weight” only recognizes the use of moisture analyzers with 0.1 mg resolution such as the HX204.

 

3. How can I ensure data integrity with HX204 and HS153 moisture analyzers?
Especially in highly regulated industries that operate under guidelines such as GMP, GLP, USP, or ISO, it is important to document not only the result but also who has performed the measurement. To ensure the security of such data, you need an instrument with user management that documents the name of the person who performed the test on the report.

 

4. Are HX204 and HS153 moisture analyzers 21 CFR Part 11 compliant?Excellence-level moisture analyzers offer a variety of smart software features such as password-protected user management and method assignment to support compliance with industry regulations such as 21 CFR Part 11. Remote control is possible for both the HX204 and HS153 using the included comprehensive MT-SICS command set. Only the HX204 is suitable for automation due to its automatic lid. This allows you to fully automate moisture measurements including the selection and initiation of different drying methods.

 

7. I am looking to replace my HR83 or HR73 moisture analyzer. Which model should I choose?
