OptiMax HFCal

Uncovering Scale-up and Safety Issues

OptiMax HFCal is a reaction calorimeter that generates calorimetric information under both isothermal as well as non-isothermal conditions.  The system is Plug & Play and ready to run any desiged unit operation automatically - or manually if preferred.

Heat Flow Calorimetry – Simple and Accurate
OptiMax HFCal reproducibly delivers information to characterize and scale-up processes ensuring they are safe at scale.

At the push of a button, iControl software automatically calculates heat data, including:

  • Heat transfer coefficient
  • Specific heat of the reaction mass
  • Heat flow for isothermal and non-isothermal conditions
  • Enthalpy
  • Thermal conversion
  • Adiabatic temperature rise

iControl Software creates a report including trends and tables of experimental results.

Heating and Cooling – No Additional Cryostat Needed
Heating and cooling is fast and does not require a cryostat.  The electrical heating and  Peltier cooling ensure precise temperature control from -40 °C to 180 °C.

Quality Information
All events and data are recorded automatically, making experiments traceable and reproducible. At the end of the experiment, the relevant data is summarized and a report with tables and trends is generated automatically. For further processing, interpretation or storage purposes, iC Data Center or the Microsoft® Excel® can be used.

OptiMax HFCal is available as an all inclusive Starter Kit (30064130) or can be obtained by upgrading an existing OptiMax 1001 reactor system with the OptiMax HFCal Upgrade Kit (30050150).
