Platinum Crucibles in Thermogravimetry

This article shows that platinum crucible can have catalytic effects on the decomposition reaction of some samples and therefore influence the measurement curve. Several other properties that platinum exhibits including 'platinum poison' are also discussed. Practical tips related to the use of platinum crucibles in thermogravimetry are given.
