PF: Influence of Measurement Conditions

To show how different experimental conditions affect the DSC curves. With phenolic resins, the endothermic vaporization of water often overlaps the exothermic curing reaction. The curing peak is then no longer clearly defined and a kinetic evaluation becomes impossible. If the curing reaction is measured in a high-pressure crucible or in a high-pressure DSC, the vaporization of the water is suppressed or shifted to higher temperature. As a result, curing and vaporization no longer overlap and the exothermic reaction can be properly recorded.
