METTLER TOLEDO REACH Information

Notice:

The European Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals ("REACH") is a regulation of the European Union, adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals, while enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry.

REACH defines the following for the European Economic Area:

1.    Registration and safety information requirements for manufacturers and importers of substances and mixtures, as well as for manufacturers and importers of articles that are intended to release a substance under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions.

2.    Communication duty in the supply chain for manufacturers and importers of articles containing more than 0.1 weight percent per article of a substance of very high concern (SVHC), listed in the so-called "candidate list" (REACH Article 33).

3.    Authorisation and restriction requirements on specific uses of some substances, as defined in the Annexes XIV and XVII of the regulation.

METTLER TOLEDO produces complex products made of articles, which are not intended to release any substance under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use.

Furthermore, METTLER TOLEDO offers consumables for certain products, such as buffers, standards, electrolytes and cleaning solutions.

In order to meet its obligations under REACH, METTLER TOLEDO requests its suppliers to provide information on SVHCs, as well as concerning compliance to the constraints applying to the substances listed in Annexes XIV and XVII of the regulation.

The monitoring of suppliers is an ongoing process. According to the currently available information, METTLER TOLEDO products might contain the SVHCs listed in the Table below in some of their constituent articles in more than 0.1 weight percent.
