Advanced Reaction Characterization

To understand and optimize chemical reactions over a wide range of temperature and pressure conditions, chemists and chemical engineers require in-depth reaction information. This data has traditionally been obtained via offline techniques that require extraction and sample preparation which is therefore not a true representation of the reaction components. ReactIR 45m is a real-time, in situ mid-infrared based system that monitors reactive chemistry to track reactants, products and intermediates under actual reaction conditions. By eliminating offline sampling, ReactIR 45m helps develop safe, robust processes faster. 

Sampling technology options enable reactions to be monitored under a wide range of conditions including high and low temperatures and high pressures. Chemistries include:

– all of which are unsuitable for offline sampling.

FTIR Spectroscopy with In Situ Reaction Monitoring

The DS Micro Flow Cell is sampling technology for continuous flow chemistry monitoring in the lab. The DS Micro Flow Cell easily connects to all ReactIR base units without the need for optical alignment.
The ReactIR DS Instrument Performance Assurance (IPA) module enables users to regularly validate wavenumber accuracy and calibrate, if necessary, to a Polystyrene standard certified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). As a result, scientists can be confident that their instruments are in proper working condition, ready when needed and the result can be trusted.
The DST Fiber Conduit is the best sampling technology choice for liquid-based reaction monitoring in the lab and plant. The DST Fiber Conduit allows maximum flexibility of use in a wide range of lab vessels and plant reactors without the need for alignment. Compatible with all ReactIR units, the DST Fiber Conduit offers the widest range of analytical performance.
The DST Fiber Conduit is for optical connection between all ReactIR and the Sentinel probe. This fiber conduit provides flexibility for interface to either a lab or process reactor and process flow cell without the need for alignment. Vibration isolation is also a feature of the DST Fiber Conduit from large pumps and other equipment found in plant environments.
The K4 Conduit to Sentinel is the best sampling technology choice for liquid-based reaction monitoring of high temperature and pressure chemistry in the lab and plant.
The DST Series Fiber to Gas Cell is the recommended sampling technology for phase reaction and headspace monitoring in the lab and general purpose plant applications.
