Truck Scales: One Size Doesn’t Fit All - METTLER TOLEDO

Truck Scales: One Size Doesn’t Fit All

Many scale companies mass produce the same model of vehicle scale day in and day out, without considering the unique needs of the customer. But we think your truck scale should be tailored to fit your operation.

In today's world of automated systems and processes, some businesses can become so streamlined that they lose the ability to really tailor their products to individual customer needs. This has become the case for many vehicle-scale manufacturers, as they often only offer one or two model variations intended to fit all customer needs.

Your needs are unique

We believe your business is unique and deserves a solution that fits your operation with minimal interruption to your workflow. With a vehicle scale designed to handle low- to high-volume operations, and the ability to offer customized lengths, widths, grain dumps, guide rails and much more, we can accommodate the simplest to most complex projects.

Galvanized scales

The demand for galvanized scales has been growing around the world. While this custom option has become increasingly popular for operations with corrosive products, it is not limited to these industries.

Recently a mid-size limestone quarry found themselves in a tough situation. They purchased a non-METTLER TOLEDO truck scale less than 10 years ago. They had dealt with the problematic load-cell system for the past several years and replacement parts and service fees were adding up. Finally, they began to notice the body of the scale rusting on the sides, and upon further investigation under the scale, they realized the entire bridge was in bad shape. A combination of the location near the ocean, with its salty air and rainy seasons, along with a very thin layer of paint, led to the accelerated demise of their scale.

Needless to say, they were not going to make the same mistake twice. Upon contacting METTLER TOLEDO, the company elected to work with a new galvanized steel truck scale, ensuring a long life. With a new POWERCELL® PDX® load-cell system in place as well, the quarry can expect to be problem-free for decades to come.
