Fundamentals of Thermal Analysis - Determining Glass Transition

Part Three of our Four-Part Live Webinar Series

Join our series of live webinars looking at different thermal analysis techniques and applications.

Session 3 of 4: Determining Glass Transition
Tuesday 24 September 2024 - 9.30am

Glass transitions occur in all non-crystalline or semicrystalline materials and lead to significant changes in material properties such as thermal expansion, the specific heat capacity or modulus. Because the glass transition is very sensitive to chemical and physical structure, it can be used to characterise materials and is therefore important in most industries.

Thermal Analysis provides different methods to measure the glass transition and the glass transition temperature.

Join this live webinar session where we will cover:

  • What is the glass transition and why is it useful?
  • Why does the glass transition temperature differ across techniques?
  • Predicting the glass transition, improving your trace and separating effects (Modulated DSC)

The webinar also includes an opportunity for a Q&A session with the host.
