With Cutting-Edge Technology

Conditorei Coppenrath & Wiese delights its customers every day with its philosophy of consistent quality. The Conditorei's frozen gateaux, cakes, rolls and other baked goods are of the highest quality, bringing unrivalled enjoyment and delicious flavours. As their supplier of metal detection technology, Mettler-Toledo Safeline has brought confidence to Conditorei for many years.

Coppenrath & Wiese is ISO-certified and all work carried out at its bakery in Mettingen is in accordance with the requirements of the BRC (British Retail Standard) and IFS (International Featured Standard). The production of all bakery products is based on the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) approach. A vital aspect of the HACCP approach comprises the Mettler-Toledo Safeline metal detectors. The Profile range of metal detectors can be used at all of Coppenrath & Wiese's critical control points and provides excellent recognition accuracy against all ferrous metal, nonferrous metal, and stainless steel contaminants.

Despite strict input controls, metallic contaminants can find their way into the raw materials during the production process.

"For many years we have been using Profile metal detectors to inspect our frozen bakery products. We rely on Profile's high detection sensitivity," says Andreas Willming, Technical Manager of Coppenrath & Wiese's packaging department.

"Our chocolate cakes are usually a difficult product for a metal detector," explains Willming. "Thanks to the vector display the Profile metal detectors can be optimally adjusted to overcome the challenge of product effect," he continues. The Profile records the size and angle of the active product signal and displays these values in diagrammatic form, together with the values determined during the set-up process. Based on this display, Willming can fine tune the inspection programme for optimum detection. In addition, the Coppenrath & Wiese plant engineer appreciates the intuitive set up features.

This is especially important for a confectioner making a very wide range of products. Coppenrath & Wiese's products can be grouped together and their details stored in the metal detector's product memory. The production engineer can thus perform product changes quickly and efficiently.

Coppenrath & Wiese combines classic baking traditions and the confectioner's craft with modern manufacturing techniques. In addition to a philosophy of consistent quality and the pursuit of perfection, the company from Mettingen Germany, pays particular attention to detail. Assurance systems such as Safeline metal detection solutions guarantee impeccable quality. The company also conducts regular internal and external audits and continuously monitors the entire production process.

Coppenrath & Wiese shall continue to be fully justified in saying: "Coppenrath & Wiese – Where will you get quality like ours?"
